Dr. Velkoff is an out-of-network provider and does not participate directly with insurance plans.
Many insurance companies offer reimbursement for out-of-network behavioral health services. Because every insurance plan is different, it is important to contact your insurance carrier before your first appointment to understand your benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance company include:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
Is preauthorization or precertification required?
What portion of my therapy sessions will be reimbursed?
Have I met my annual deductible?
Are there limits on the number of therapy sessions covered?
Does my plan cover individual, family, or psychological services?
Each month, you'll receive a detailed statement (often called a "superbill") containing the information typically required to submit claims for reimbursement. If your insurance company requires additional documentation, Dr. Velkoff is happy to assist whenever possible.
-
Therapy appointments are generally 50 to 55 minutes in length. Diagnostic evaluations and psychological testing appointments may require additional time.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify the office at least 24 hours in advance. This allows the appointment time to be offered to another client in need.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, are charged the full session fee. Insurance companies do not reimburse cancellation or missed appointment fees.
-
Your privacy is an essential part of the therapeutic relationship. Dr. Velkoff maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with federal HIPAA regulations and Virginia state laws governing protected health information.
Information is only released with your written authorization or when required by law. Administrative and technical safeguards are maintained to protect the security and confidentiality of your personal health information.
